The Ionia B team Bulldogs took on St. John’s at home tonight. The first set started off with Brooklyn Castillo putting down 3 great kills and she also had a nice assist as well as a great dig. Alissa Castillo added another 2 kills and 2 assists. Jordyn Cavagnaro was aggressive at the net and had 3 great kills as well. Avery Rowley served tough and had some nice digs in the back row. The Dawgs played competitively and had great energy. They defeated the Red Wings 25-22.

The second set was neck and neck. The Bulldogs had to dig deep and earn each point. Danica Cummings had 4 service points and 2 aces. Evalyn Husted had an ace and a kill. She also had 2 great digs. Faith Rood had 2 great kills. The Bulldogs served tough and only had a couple mishaps on defense that led to their defeat. They fell just short of the win losing 24-26.

It all came down to the final set of the night. Knowing they only had 15 points to victory, they had to fight for each point. Alissa Castillo had 5 great digs on defense. Aubreana Velasquez had 2 digs and a nice kill. Despite their efforts, the Bulldogs could not regroup enough to pull off the victory. They fell short to St. John’s 9-15.
