The Ionia Bulldogs 8^th grade volleyball teams traveled to Lansing Catholic tonight to take on the Cougars. Starting off strong in the first set, the B Team Dawgs were solid behind the service line with a combined total of 15 points from Brooklyn Castillo, Alissa Castillo, Avery Rowley, Danica Cummings, and Evelyn Husted. Faith Rood was aggressive at the net and placed 2 nice kills while Audrey Sprank added another solid kill. The Bulldogs defeated the Cougars 25-17.

Ionia kept the high energy going into the second set with Brooklyn Castillo putting down another 5 service points, 2 aces, and a great kill. Defensively The Lady Dawgs were communicating well and moving their feet. Evelyn Husted had a nice dig from the back row. Jordyn Cavagnaro had 2 great kills and an assist in the front row. The Bulldogs worked well as a team and dominated Lansing Catholic 25-13.

For the third and final set of the night, The Bulldogs were ready to finish strong. Jersey Howorth had a nice kill and a great assist in the front row, playing her spot well. Aubrey Velasquez had a great assist and a nice dig in the back row. Lydia Struble protected the net and did not let a ball drop. The Bulldogs’ teamwork and hustle led them to a final set victory over the Cougars 15-12.
