The Ionia Bulldogs 8th grade volleyball team traveled to Lakewood tonight to take on the Vikings. The B team started strong with Alissa Castillo behind the service line. Castillo also had one kill during the first game. Avery Rowley served up four aces and Evalyn Husted added one as well as Lydia Struble. Struble also put down two great kills at the net! The Dawgs defeated Lakewood 25-13.

During the second set, Alissa Castillo and Brooklyn Castillo served tough with Alissa adding three aces and a service point while Brooklyn put down four aces and two service points. Audrey Sprank added two aces and another service point and Danica Cummings added to the total with two service points. The Bulldogs worked together and pulled off a second set win dominating the Vikings 25-8.

The Lady Dawgs kept their high energy and teamwork going for the third and final set to 15. Rowley, Sprank, and Struble each had several aces and Struble added another kill at the net. Jersey Howorth had a couple of nice assists while Aubrey Velasquez, Faith Rood, and Jordyn Cavagnaro played their roles well and did not let a ball hit the floor. The Bulldogs defeated the Vikings 15-9.
