The Ionia 8th Grade Volleyball Teams took on St. Johns tonight at home. Starting off strong, Brooklynn Nash served up six aces and two service points! Melanie White also served the ball tough and kept the Bulldogs on a rally. Elle Lepley added another four service points and the Lady Dawgs defeated St. Johns 25-12. Not losing any momentum coming into the second set, Ionia came out with tough serves out of Jordyn Ciganick and smart play at the net by McKenna O'Connor, Ryley Helmes, and Brielle Nummer. The Bulldogs dominated St. Johns 25-7. The Lady Dawgs hustled on defense. Courtney Thomas and Aizlin Barna covered their front row well and worked hard as a team tonight! Ionia was ready to finish strong with a final set win and swept St. Johns ending the third set 15-7.
