The Ionia 8th Grade Volleyball teams hosted the Lakewood Vikings for their second matchup of the season tonight. The B Team Dawgs had some nice serves in the first set and they played well at the net. Melanie White had an ace and a kill and McKenna O'Connor had an ace and two kills. Elle Lepley also added two aces. Ryley Helmes played well all the way around and passed the ball well. Despite their efforts, the Bulldogs lost the first set 16-25. Ionia was off to a slow start in the second set and struggled to regroup on serve receive. Ryley Helmes had two nice digs in the backrow and Courtney Thomas did a nice job covering her teammates. Brielle Nummer played her role well all across the front row. The Vikings did not let down and defeated the Bulldogs 12-25. The Lady Dawgs did not give up and fought hard until the end, only falling to Lakewood 10-15. 

The Ionia 8th Grade B team is 2-4 so far this season. Please join us this Wednesday as we travel to Eaton Rapids to take on the Greyhounds. Let's Go Bulldogs!
