The Ionia 8th Grade B Volleyball team faced off against the Panthers from Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School tonight. The Bulldogs had several strong serves in the first set with Ryley Helmes acing two points, Melanie White adding another ace and McKenna O'Connor adding three. Melanie White also had two great digs and hustled on the court. SSPP put up a great fight and worked well as a team but in the end, Ionia took the set winning 25-23. Ready for the second and final set of the night, Ionia came out again with tough serves from Elle Lepley, Skye Currigan, and Brooklynn Nash. Jordyn Ciganick added a nice kill and Jocelyn White had several great passes in the back row. Courtney Thomas and Aizlin Barna covered their front row hitters well. The Bulldogs played hard as a team and had great positive energy! Ionia took the second set over the Panthers 25-17.
