The 8^th Grade Ionia Volleyball teams traveled to Lansing Catholic tonight for what was bound to be a great matchup. The B Team Dawgs came out first and had some early struggles with serve receive. They regrouped with Elle Lepley putting down a nice attack at the net and Skye Currigan, Ryley Helmes, and Jordyn Ciganick each serving up an ace, but still could not pull off the first set win. The Bulldogs fell 17-25. Hungry for revenge in set two, the Lady Dawgs came out swinging but again, fell just short of the win with the Cougars defeating us 16-25. Melanie White had several nice passes in the back and served the ball well. Courtney Thomas and Aizlin Barna each added some nice passes and hustled on the court. McKenna O’Connor was a strong leader on the team and played hard.
