The Ionia 8th Grade Volleyball team traveled to St. John's tonight for their final away match of the season. Cora Nummer started off strong with 4 service points. The Bulldogs struggled to regain service possession after several mishaps on serve receive. Ionia fell short in the first set, 12-25. Eager to fight back, the Lady Dawgs had higher energy and better passes in the second set. Peighton Cary and Emma Patterson served well. Brooklynn Burhans and Chloe Zander each had a nice kill from the front row. Ionia took the second set 25-15. The final set was bound to be a close match as both teams needed the victory to claim the match. The Lady Dawgs came out hungry and played much more aggressively on serve receive, but despite their efforts, they fell just shy of the win, falling to St. John's 13-15. 

The Ionia B Team is 13-14 so far this season. Join us tomorrow night as we take on Portland at home for our final match of the year. Go Bulldogs!
