Boys Varsity Football vs. Portland HS School

PORTLAND- Ionia (1-2, 1-1) traveled to Portland and lost 42-6. Ionia was able to answer an early Portland TD with a Tucker Jr. one yard score to make the score 7-6. The drive was assisted with a Tucker to Tooker pass play on a third down to extend the drive. Portland would go on to score two more times in the second quarter to take a 21-6 halftime lead. Tooker finished with two catches for 40 yards. Defensively Gavin Elvert had five tackles, and Parker Seidelman and Brennan Brownell each added 4 tackles. Wolton Sandborn added a sack for the Bulldogs. Ionia will host Olivet in the Purple Game next Friday at 7:00.
