The Ionia Volleyball teams traveled to Olivet tonight to open CAAC White Conference play and came away with a program wide sweep! Varsity got off to a bit of a slow start but quickly settled into the match behind strong swings at the net to close out the 1st set. The Bulldogs kept the momentum going through the 2nd set as they turned up the defense as well. Ionia finished the night behind strong serving to wrap up the match in 3 straight sets. 

It was a balanced offensive and defensive effort tonight with Logan Thomas leading the way putting down 12 kills while Amaya Frias added 5. Grace Droste dished out 18 assists while Lexi Daugherty put up 7 from the backrow. Frias led the attack behind the service line with 3 aces while Thomas dropped in another 2. Daugherty paced the defensive effort picking up 13 digs while Frias kept 7 in play. Defensively at the net Ireland Brown had 2 solo blocks while Layla Delnay and Tessa Lemke added 2 block assists. 

The Bulldogs are now 1-0 in conference play and 8-3 on the season. Next up all three teams will have their first full night at home against Central Montcalm! Let's fill the stands and get loud! Varsity starts at 6pm. Good work Bulldogs!!
