The Varsity Volleyball team took on Alma tonight in District Semi Finals on the Bulldog's home court. Ionia came out strong and finished the first set, but were unable to keep the momentum dropping the second. After a slow start in the third the Bulldogs battled back and closed out the set. Again a momentum swing sent the match to a fifth set. The Bulldogs were determined as they stepped out on the court and never looked back closing out the fifth set with strong play 15-9. Leading the efforts on defense tonight once again with incredible court coverage and secondary efforts was Londyn Brown with 23 digs, while Tess Griffith added 18. At the net Emma White led with 4 blocks and Griffith added 3. Griffith also led the night offensively with 20 kills while Drew Wachowski added 15. Mikaiah White kept the pace on offense with 36 assists. Behind the service line Kate Brown racked up a season high 5 aces! Great work tonight Bulldogs! We hope to see everyone in the stands tomorrow cheering these hard working Bulldogs on as they take on Portland for the District title at 6:30. Great work Bulldogs!!!
