The Ionia Bulldogs took to their home court tonight for the last time in regular season play against Charlotte. They also hosted Youth Night and were able to recognize the 5th through 8th grade teams & coaches for their efforts and great seasons! Although the Bulldogs got off to a slow start in sets 1 & 2, they were able to rally behind strong defensive efforts and overcome the deficit to take the wins. In the 3rd set Ionia came out determined to keep the momentum and finished the sweep with efficient swings and a season high number of blocks across the net. Rajalyaj Esquivel led the offense tonight with 7 kills while Tess Griffith & Mikaiah White each added 6. M. White kept the offense going with 15 assists, while Grace Droste added 9. Kate Brown had a great night behind the service line with 4 aces. Londyn Brown once again paced the defense with 15 digs while Griffith added 13. Emma White had a stellar night at the net on defense with 8 total blocks while Griffith added 6. The Bulldogs move to 6-3 in CAAC White play and 22-7-3 overall. Great work Bulldogs!
