The Varsity Volleyball team hosted a tri at home tonight against Waverly and Belding. In the opening match against Waverly, the Bulldogs got out to a quick lead and stayed consistent throughout to push to a 25-16 set win. In the second set the team continued to string together strong defensive and offensive efforts to close out the match with a 25-13 set win. After a break for the Belding vs Waverly game, Ionia took to the court against Belding. With strong play at the net on offense and defense, Ionia took the lead and continued to build momentum finishing the set 25-14. In the second set the Bulldogs were able to consistently put several points on the board with each server, and their hard work closed out the match and the overall win for the night with a 25-9 set win. 

The Bulldogs were led offensively by Tess Griffith with 12 kills, followed by Danika Fyan with 10 and Emma Scoby with 9. Kassidy Casillas once again efficiently set up the offense with 34 assists. Behind the service line Scoby and Griffith both tossed up 6 aces. Defensively Ionia was led by Ava Curtin with 13 digs, while Londyn Brown kept 12 in play. At the net Griffith had 5 blocks, while Fyan stopped 4. The Ionia Varsity Volleyball team moves to 32-5-1 and 7-1 in CAAC. The Bulldogs are back on their home court Tuesday night at 6pm against Lansing Catholic for Senior Night and to battle for a share of the Conference Title.
