The Ionia Varsity Volleyball lost 2 tough matches at the Cedar Springs Tri tonight. After a slow start against the host Red Hawks, the Bulldogs bounced back to take the first set against Shelby. However they struggled to close out the match and lost in 3. The defensive effort was led by Logan Thomas with 27 digs while Alexias Daugherty kept another 24 in play. At the net Delnay and White both had 2 blocks. On offense Thomas put away 9 kills and Layla Delnay added another 8. Grace Droste worked hard to keep the offense in system with 28 assists. Molly Waterman led the attack behind the service line with 4 aces and Thomas dropped in another 3. The Bulldogs fall to 16-14-1 on the season. They will be back on their home court for Senior Night on Tuesday against Eaton Rapids.
