The Ionia Varsity Volleyball team took to the court again tonight after a one night break in a strong performance against Saranac. The Bulldogs were able to jump out to a quick start in the first set behind strong serves, including a 6 point run by Danika Fyan. With a strong combination from offense and defense, Ionia won the set 25-14. The Bulldogs started set 2 with the serve, and Kassidy Casilllas took advantage with a 7-0 run. After a bit of a back and forth battle, Ionia regained the serve at 16-6. Fyan went on another 8 point run, including several aces. The Lady Dawgs were able to close out the 2nd set 25-7. The third set of the night was a balanced effort by the defense and offense. Back row kept the ball in play to allow the front line to connect and terminate, finishing the third set 25-15.

The Bulldogs were led offensively by Tess Griffith with 11 kills, followed by Jessa Swinehart with 8. Kassidy Casillas finished the night with 28 assists as she efficiently spread the offense across the net. Defensively Paige Castillo led with 8 digs, followed by GraceMarie Martinez with 6. At the net defensively Danika Fyan led with 2 blocks. While several Bulldogs had a strong night behind the service line, Fyan led with 9 aces on 16 points. Overall it was a great team effort tonight! 

Ionia Varsity Volleyball is now 12-1 and 3-0 in the conference.
