The Varsity Volleyball team got off to a hot start in Fowlerville in the first quad of the season. The Bulldogs opened with a win over host team Fowlerville 25-22 and 25-23. Next they dropped a tough match to a strong Grand Ledge team 18-25, 25-23, 15-17. The team rebounded strong and after a bit of a slow start, rallied to finish the night with an exciting win over Portland 13-25, 25-21, 15-11. 

Danika Fyan led the team in kills and blocks, Kassidy Casillas led the team in assists and aces, and Paige Castillo led the team in digs. The successful opener of the season was definitely a strong team effort overall, and showed the depth of the team. 

The girls came out with the expected first match jitters, but quickly settled in. After finding their groove, the back row had some astounding defensive plays to earn points for the Bulldogs and cheers from the crowd! The offense put on a great show as well. With strong swings, key kills and timely blocks, they helped the team close out the night on a high note! The Bulldogs are looking to carry this momentum into their first tournament this weekend in Perry.
