Bulldogs traveled to St. Johns this evening.  The Redwings are always a competitive team to play against and tonight the Bulldogs were expecting to be in a real battle. It was a physical match and although we were up for the physical side of it we had to work on our ball control and try to take back some of the ball possession that St. Johns was enjoying. As the match wore on we looked more and more dangerous.
After St Johns scored their first goal in the first half, we kept searching for an equalizer that was hard to come by. Until about 15 minutes into the second half when St. Johns fouled us about 35 yards out left of the goal. on the free kick. Drew Paton swung a beautiful ball in over the top of the 6-yard box where Scotti Kimber climbed air to head the ball into the back of the net to tie it up. That gave the team a confidence boost and now we were really playing on the front foot. Towards the end of the game we had a momentary lapse of focus and that came to haunt us when inside of 20 minutes they notched their second. The game was still a battle until the very end as we searched for more but couldn't find a leveler.

Another gritty performance by the entire team and they should be proud of their efforts tonight.
