Ionia 1 - Portland 2.
In a game that saw us struggle to find our way, a bright spot to be celebrated was the first goal of his high school career for freshman Emanuel Cardoso. While attacking down the left flank, Zane Sarka dribbled the ball toward the goal line and served in a low cross as Cardoso was arriving at the 6 yard box. The first contact was a bit unlucky not to find the back of the net, hitting the post instead, but he followed up the shot and made sure to bury it leaving no doubt. This should be the first of many for one of our younger players in the squad.
