Tonight was a special night for Ionia as we celebrated the community coming together over the fight against cancer. The players donned purple jerseys (and socks) for the match and took to the field to take on Portland, playing in the name of a loved one.

Tonight's match was going to be special regardless of the outcome. However, we're always happy when the outcome favors our Bulldogs. Tonight was such a case and the game was full of action and the goals just kept coming for us. The details on scorers can be found at the end of this article so we won't give a blow by blow account of the game. I will say that we felt this was definitely one of our better games of the season.

We wanted to start the game on the front foot and keep the ball moving and the boys did an excellent job of that. The player movement with and without the ball is some of the best we've had this season and definitely more consistent. Each player who took the field tonight made strong contributions to make this a really solid team win. It's hard not to be inspired by the cause - Congratulations to the boys for a job well done!
