Ionia traveled to Portland this evening to take on the Raiders.
It was a good, well-played game for both sides but the Bulldogs were hungry to get this game going and get back into winning ways. 

We created a lot of chances on the attacking side through good build-up play and registered several fine finishes. Zane Sarka led the scoring with 3 goals followed closely by Devon Reyes with 2 goals and an assist. The scoring was capped off with a lovely ball by Marco Riesco De Castro that banked off the left post and into the net. Tony Velasco had two assists but might have had more as he was sliding some great balls through for the attack.

Defensively, the back line was very solid again tonight and shut things down while moving the ball moving forward in a hurry. The midfield kept the ball moving and we saw more play to our wide midfielders tonight which is something we've been trying to focus on. 

Next game is Thursday Sept. 9 at Perry with a 5:30 pm kick-off.
