Lansing Eastern came to town tonight for a rare Friday night soccer match. It was another hot night but the guys were ready to go. 
The early stages of the game saw the teams go back and forth looking to control possession but Ionia was able to win the battles in the midfield and time of possession gradually swung in our favor.

There were strong attacking performances tonight by Devon Reyes, Tony Velasco and Zane Sarka. On the defensive side of the ball Wyatt Montgomery spent more time sliding than running to put in a number of fine tackles. Ethan Castillo also had an outstanding game. Rookie sophomore, Carter Castillo is making quite an impression as well as he begins his high school career.  

Goalkeeper Kyle Jones ran out of goal to make some brave stops that helped keep Eastern from adding to their total.

Overall, a good team win.
