Ionia faced probably the most complete competition we've seen all season in Godwin Heights. It was a difficult match that we struggled to impose ourselves in with a few bright spots of possession throughout the first half of the game.

In the second half after we discussed the need to apply more pressure on the wolverines in their half of the field. Right off the kick-off, we were switched on and Cole Listerman led the way by pressing their defense and forcing them to make plays they didn't want to make. During this press, Zane Sarka picked off a pass in the midfield and dribbled the ball in from the left side to drive the ball into the net from about 18 yards out. We continued to apply pressure but gradually Godwin Heights regained their composure and finished out the game as comfortable winners.

This puts an end to a very memorable, yet uncoventional season. These players handled the demands placed on them both physically and emotionally very well. They were committed to the cause and successfully managed the adversity thrown their way.
