LANSING CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL: 3
Ionia lost a closely contested match tonight by a score of 3-0, away at Lansing Catholic. It was a game that was pretty even in terms of possession but Lansing Catholic capitalized on some defensive errors and that was enough to steal the win.
We always felt this was a match that we could compete in but it wasn't really until the last twenty minutes of the match when we really came alive and had sustained offensive pressure really for the remainder of the game. Still we ended without a goal to our credit. So that's two games in the books without a goal, we are still looking to get our offensive game going.
Reflecting on tonight's performance, the team agreed we are definitely moving in the right direction. We will look to build on tonight's performance in preparation for our matchup against Lakewood this coming Saturday, September 12, at noon.
