Ionia Varsity Volleyball traveled to Eaton Rapids tonight for a conference match-up. The Bulldogs got out to a bit of a slow start in the first set and were unable to battle back dropping it 16-25. Coming out of the huddle the team pulled together and found their flow winning the next 2 sets 25-18 and 25-11. In the 4th set the Greyhounds found some momentum to jump out to a 24-17 lead before Amaya Frias stepped behind the line and with the help of strong defense and quick swings was able to tie it up 24-24. However a couple of errors on the Bulldog's side saw the set end 25-27. In the final set Ionia struggled to start again getting down 4-9 before Paislie Patterson racked off 6 straight points to tie it up at 10-10. Ultimately the Bulldogs were unable to closeout and came up short 14-16. 

It was a balanced effort on the court tonight with the offensive attack being led by Logan Thomas with 18 kills while Amaya Frias and Grace Droste each added 10. Droste paced the offense tonight with 29 assists. Behind the service line Thomas and Paislie Patterson led the attack with 5 aces each. The defensive charge was led by Thomas with 32 digs while Patterson kept another 21 in play. At the net Layla Delnay led with 2 blocks. 

The Bulldogs are now 18-10-1 overall and 3-3 in the CAAC White. Next up Ionia hosts their Varsity Tournament this Saturday with play starting at 9am. Good work Bulldogs!
