The Ionia boys bowling team opened their season tonight against the Saxons of Hastings on their home lanes at the Ionia Bowling Alley.  The Bulldogs young squad fell 23-7 to Hastings.

In team match #1 Ionia totaled 636 pins to Hasting’s 670 pins, the Bulldogs were led by Christian Miller’s 190 followed by Myles Perrin’s 143.  In match #2 Ionia totaled 704 pins to Hasting’s 704 pins, the Bulldogs were again led by Christian Miller’s 189 followed by Trevor Hodge’s 163.  The Bulldog’s lost the series 1340 to 1374.

In the 2 Bakers matches the Bulldogs were outscored by the Saxons team 307 to 277.

In the JV match Ionia defeated Hastings 19.5 to 10.5.  The team was led by Roelynnd Russel’s 115, Wyatt Anes 135, and Aaron Williford’s team high 136.

The varsity boys are 0-1 on the season and will be back in action next Thursday as they take on the Cougars of Lansing Catholic in their first league Match.
