WAVERLY MIDDLE SCHOOL: 44
The 8th grade Lady Dawgs dropped their 2nd straight game, a hard fought 44-40 defeat at the hands of the Waverly Warriors Wednesday at the IMS gym. Ionia was up 10-5 after 1 quarter and 21-17 at the half but a 19-8 scoring outburst by the Warriors in the 3rd period sent the Ionia girls to the 4 point defeat. Pyper Patterson ied the Bulldogs with 13 points 5 rebounds 3 assists and 5 steals. Bella Barr scored 9 and added 7 rebounds 4 assists and 3 steals. Jovie Overkamp netted 6 points ande grabbed a game high 9 rebounds to go with 2 steals. Selina Stalker had 6 points 7 rebounds 3 assists and 3 steals. Alexa Petersen scored 4 points hauled down 3 rebounds and dished out 2 assists. Mallory Husman finished the scoring with 2 points. Ionia now 1-2 will travel to Olivet on Monday for a 5:30 contest.
