LANSING CATHOLIC MS: 41
Ionia traveled to Lansing today to take on Lansing Catholic. Ionia fought hard all 4 quarters but fell short 41-15. The ladies put up a hard fight in the first half, trailing 7-19 at halftime. Lansing Catholic came out strong in the 3rd quarter, improving their lead to 35-11. From there it was a defensive battle, and the Bulldogs fought hard all the way through.
Leading the Bulldogs was Ava Benedict with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Jordyn Ciganick contributed 2 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals, and Olivia Lemke added 2 points and 9 rebounds. Ash Ellsworth provided some great defensive stops and had 7 rebounds, while Ryley Helmes played some crucial help side defense and recorded 3 rebounds.
The Bulldogs fall to 0-3 on the season. They will host Olivet at home on Wednesday, January 31st for the Ionia purple game.
