Tonight Ionia traveled to Lakewood for the first game of the season. It was a rough start in the first half for the Bulldogs as they fell behind 11-47 going into halftime. The goal for the second half was to continue to play hard and accomplish two goals in the second half. They were able to complete one by holding Lakewood to only 10 points in the second half. Overall, the effort continued to the end of the game. Final score Ionia 17 and Lakewood 57. Leading scorers were Bentley Smith with 7 points, Camron Taylor and Maysen Pertner each scored 4 points and Ryder Willingham chipped in 2. The Bulldogs are 0-1 on the season and play next Monday, November 11 at Lansing Catholic.
