Tonight the Boys 8th grade A Team traveled to Lakewood for the first game of the season. The Bulldogs started slow and allowed Lakewood to jump out to an early lead. At halftime, Lakewood led 33-16. The second half emphasis was to play better defense which the team did but could never cut into the lead. The final score was 55-29. Leading scorers were Aiden Washington with 8 points and Grant Starks with 8. Other contributors were Bryce Shattuck with 5, Carson Schmid with 3, Cody Waterman with 2, and Guy Ferguson with 2. Ionia is now 0-1. Their next game is Monday. November 13 at Lansing Catholic.
