The JV Girls Volleyball Team traveled to Lakewood to compete in their season opener. The team features one returner and four players venturing into new positions.

The girls opened the tournament play against DeWitt losing both matches 21-25 and 11-25.  The team bounced back and defeated Belding 25-16, 25-18. The girls fought back and forth with a good defensive team from Lakewood splitting the games 20-25, 25-23.  Waverly was next on the schedule and the team took them in two 25-18, 25-10. Grand Ledge was the last match of the night and also ended in a split 25-12, 20-25.

Leading the Bulldogs at the net was Alli Shaw with 27 kills, 39 assists and a block. Amelia Griffith chipped in 15 kills and 3 blocks. Danica White also had 15 kills, and Marley Piselli contribute with 13 kills. Brooklynn Burhans had two blocks on the night.  Emma Hoppough put up 17 assists. Amelia Griffith lead the team at the service line with 14 Aces, Alli Shaw added 11 Aces and Danica White had 8 Aces. Avery Hoppough led the team defensively with 51 digs and Ariana Frias had 25 digs.

The Lady Dawgs had a solid start to the season with great contributions from all the players. They will be back in action with a Quad at home on Tuesday, August 27th at 5:00pm.
