LAKEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL: 4
The Ionia JV Volleyball team traveled to Lakewood on Saturday for their first matches of the season. The girls started out strong beating Kenowa Hills all three games. They faced off against Greenville next. The girls started out strong winning the first game but dropped the next two. This placed the team in the gold tournament bracket. Ionia then faced off against Lakewood losing both games in tight matches 21-25 and 22-25. The team finished 4-4.
The girls were very good defensively with strong and consistent passing. They also played aggressively on the net. The team had 21 ace serves and 41 kills.
The team will host a quad on Tuesday, August 23rd at 5:00pm against Holt, Fowlerville, and Portland.
