The JV Bulldogs took on their rivals from Portland tonight in an exciting battle for Ionia's annual Purple Game. Ionia never let up and took the lead early; Julia Stewart had 5 service points, 3 of which were aces. Lilly Reams had 3 assists while Ella Curtin, Molly Waterman, and Emma White each had a kill. Despite the Bulldogs' effots, they fell just short of the win, falling to the Raiders 21-25. 

The JV Dawgs did not give up and played a solid defense in the second set. Lilly Reams had two kills and McKenna Bussell had two great digs. Kate Brown played aggressively in both sets with a total of 5 digs overall. Small communication errors did not help the Dawgs efforts in fighting for the win, but they played with a lot of heart tonight. Ionia couldn't quite pull off the win in the end and Portland ended the night with a 9-25 victory.
