The Ionia Bulldogs  prevail at Central Montcalm Quad, earning 3 wins:

Central Montcalm is always an exciting match, tonight was no different.  Danika Fyan was all over the net earning 6 kills, Tess Griffith added 3 and stuffed a block for a point.  Kassidy Casillas blocked 4, Brynn Reams aced two and Paige Castillo dug up 5, but it was not enough.  The Hornets snuck by winning  the first set  27-25.  

The Bulldogs came back in set 2.  Casillas was spreading out the assists to the offense, Fyan earning 3 kills and Griffith, Jessa Swinehart and Brynn Reams each putting 2 to the floor.  The Hornets couldn’t get past our defense with 13 digs, Castillo leading with  6, Casey Lopez with 4 and Michaela Castle with 3.  Griffith topped 2 at the net and Casillas blocked one.   Ionia wins set two 25-23!  Now off to a 3rd set, also to 25.  Ionia wins 25-21.

Next up Ogemaw.  The Bulldogs powered through this match.  The team was solid both on offense earning  20 kills, 9 aces and defense stopping 21 points.  Reams led this match with 6 kills, followed by Fyan, Griffith and Swinehart each killing 4 and Casillas putting 2 down. Casillas got her serve on with 4 aces and Micheala Castle fired in 2.  On defense, Castle led in digs with 7, castillo followed with 6 and Lopez with 4.  The Bulldogs win in 2 sets.

Last match, Hesperia.  In the first set the Bulldogs found themselves off the groove and Hesperia was leading until Castillo served 10 points in a row, bringing the Bulldogs back in the lead.  In the 1st set, Fyan and Reams both earned 7 kills a piece, Swinehart with 5, defense dug up 30 kills and blocked 6, but Hesperia was not giving up.  The Bulldogs took the 1st set 27-25.   In the 2nd set the Lady Dawgs woke up and  took Hesperia 25-14.  Reams led offense with 5 kills, including the kill for the game.  Fyan and Swinehart both earned 4.  Fyan stopped 2 at the net while Castillo dug up 6 and Castle  and Lopez protected the court with 4 a piece.
