Saturday was a good day for the Lady Dawgs at their home Quad.  Ionia faced off with Haslett in the first match one of the day winning 25-17; 25-20 and 15-6.

The second  match was against the Holt Rams.  The Dawgs had some communication errors and lost the first set 16-25.  However, the next set we played much better but Holt snuck the win with 22-25.  This team never gives up.  We played hard the 3rd game and were able to win that one 15-13!   Reassuring the team, they can beat Holt, they just have to communicate.

The 3rd match was against Freeland.  This was the team that knocked us out of the regionals last year, so we really wanted to take them.  And it was a great match! The first set went Freelands way 23-25, but the Lady Dawgs re-grouped and took the next 2 matches 25-18 and 15-12! 

Paige Castillo served incredibly tough all day earning 34 service points ,7 aces and NO service errors..  Danika Fyan was on fire all day tallying up 22 kills and 6 blocks.  GraceMarie Marinez protected the court with 29 serve receive passes and 20 digs.  Brynn Reams had a great day with 17 kills, 13 digs, 2 blocks and 3 aces. Tess Griffith scored 13 kills and 3 blocks.  The Lady Dawgs have 2 home matches this week.  On Monday we will Face Mason and the Eaton Rapids on Thursday.
