Game #1 District Semifinals

Carter Castillo picked up the win for Ionia with a complete game, 7 innings, 2 runs, ( 2 earned) 5 hits, 1 walk and 5 K's.  

Offensively, Ionia out hit Charlotte 7 to 5.  Alex Barr was 2-3, Carter Castillo1-3, Matt McCoy was 1-2 with a double, Wyatt Erridge 1-2 with an Rbi, Parker Seidelman 1-2 with a Rbi and Colt Piercefield was 1-3 with an Rbi.  

Ionia advanced to the district champhionship vs Lakewood.

Ionia wins the district championship and advances to regionals on Wednesday in Coldwater with a 5:00 start. 

Trevor Hodges started on the mound for the Bulldogs.  Trevor pitched 0.1 innings, 2 runs (2 earned) 2 hits, 1 walk and 1 K.  Alex Barr pitched in relief of Hodges and went 2.1 innings, 2 runs (2 earned) 2 hits, 2 walks and 1 K.  Colt Piercefield picked up the win pitching 4.1 innings, 1 run (unearned), 2 hits, 2 walks and 4 K's.

Offensively Alex Barr had a huge game for Ionia.  Alex was 2-3 with a Grandslam and 4 Rbi's, Christian Miller was 1-4 with a Rbi, Wyatt Erridge 1-1 and Piercefield added an Rbi.
