The Ionia 8th Grade Volleyball Team hosted their final match of the season tonight against Portland. Logan Thomas served up five aces and an additional service point in the first set and she also had three solid kills. Emma Hoppough had five aces as well and several nice assists. Kaya Clark added another ace and Ariana Frias had two blocks. Ionia took the first set 25-13. Thomas served strong in the second set as well adding another three aces. Avery Hoppough had two aces and two impressive kills from the front. Shiann Boer added an additional ace that helped push the Bulldogs ahead. Kaylee Stoakes was solid in the back-row tonight, being aggressive and going after the ball. Amelia Griffith was a strong front in the middle and had some great swings and smart plays at the net. The Lady Dawgs took the second set 25-22. Kaya Clark had some excellent passes and fast feet in the back-row. The Bulldogs handled the ball well and set the pace for their final match of the season. Ionia won 15-9 in their last set. The Ionia A team finished with an impressive 25-5 record this season having only lost one match overall.  I am very excited to watch them as they progress into the future of Ionia Bulldogs Volleyball!
