The Ionia 8th Grade Volleyball team took on Fowlerville tonight at home. Ionia started off strong with Logan Thomas putting up 5 kills, Kaylee Stoakes with 2, Avery Hoppough with 1 and Ariana Frias added 2. Frias also had two nice blocks. Ionia took the first set 25-18. The Bulldogs were hungry for another victory and Thomas started off serving strong with 4 aces. Kaya Clark added another 3 aces. Amelia Griffith had a great night at the net and had several nice kills. Shiann Boer covered well and Emma Hoppough hustled on the court. The Dawgs took the second set 25-10. Eager to stay undefeated on the night, Ionia came out for the final set against the Gladiators and played well together. Effective communication and strong serves led the Bulldogs to a final set win of 15-8 over Fowlerville.
