The Ionia freshman volleyball team went on the road to Fowlerville high school for a quad. The Lady Dawgs played Holt, Fowlerville and Portland.  

The Lady Daws faced Holt first. The Lady Dawgs started off strong winning the first set 25-19. In the second set the Lady Dawgs lost 19-25. With the match split the Lady Dawgs went into the third set, falling short and losing 12-15. During the match the Lady Dawgs had 10 aces, 5 kills and very strong passing and net play. 

The Lady Dawgs had a very tough fight against Fowlerville. The Lady Dawgs were falling behind and made a comeback with lots of volley and strong serve receive. The Lady Dawgs lost to Fowlerville 24-26 for the first set and 24-26 for the second set. During the match the Lady Dawgs had 2 aces, 5 blocks and 5 kills. 

Facing the Portland Raiders the Lady Dawgs came out wanting to win. The Lady Dawgs had strong serves, very aggressive defense and power behind their hits. The Raiders were very aggressive and strong with their defense. The Lady Dawgs were unable to secure the win and lost to the Raiders 13-25 and 23-25. 

The Lady Dawgs will be playing at home against Lansing Sexton on Tuesday August 30th 5:00pm.  Come out and show your support!
