Ionia 8 St. John's 3

Ionia picked up win 25 vs the St. John's Red Wings.  In the first round of districts Ionia played St. John's for the third time in six days winning all three vs them,  St. John's came in ranked #19 in the state.  Ionia will now play Portland on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 am, at Belding High School.  The Bulldogs and Raiders split a doubleheader earlier in the season with two extra inning games.  Should be a great matchup on Saturday morning.  

Ethan Bowen started for Ionia picking up win #7 and another milestone picking up 102 strikeouts in 59.2 innings on the season.  His stat line for Ionia was 7 innings, 3 runs, 5 hits, 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.  On offense the bulldogs were led by Ethan Bowen 3-4 and 3 Rbi's, Tyson McDiarmid 1-3 with 3 Rbi's and\ a double,  Carter Castillo 1-4 with an Rbi, Matt McCoy 1-3 and a Rbi, Alex Barr 1-3, while Garrett Lee and Daniel McCoy both had doubles that ignited the Ionia offense.  

Overall Ionia is now 25-10 on season and plays Portland @ 10:00 am at Belding High School for District play.
