Ionia split with East Lansing on Monday, improving their record to 22-10 overall.  Ethan Bowen had another great outing for the Bulldogs.  He pitched 8 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs, 0 earned and had 13 strikeouts.  Carter Castillo picked up the win in relief pitching 1 inning, 0 runs, 1 hit and 2 strikeouts.    Ionia was led by Alex Barr who was 1-4 and an Rbi, Ethan Bowen 2-4 and 2 Rbi's, Danny McCoy picked up a hit and Kolson Daugherty had an Rbi. 

Game #2 saw another really good game between both teams.  Ionia had a golden opportunity in the top of the 7th inning to tie the game but couldn't get the run in.  Carter Castillo pitched the second game going 6 innings, 3 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks and 5 strikeouts.  Ionia was led by Ethan Bowen 2-3, Kane Lundstrom 1-2 and an Rbi, Gage Flanner also added a hit. 

Ionia will host St. Johns on Wednesday, May 24th to close out the regular season.  They will then play St. Johns on Tuesday, May 30th at Belding for the first round of district play.  The game will start at 5:00 pm.  You must buy tickets through the app.  No cash tickets available.
