Danny McCoy (on his 18th birthday) started for the Bulldogs on the mound. He pitched 4 innings, 3 Runs, 2 hits, 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. Freshman Colt Piercefield pitched 2.1 innings, 6 runs, 3 hits, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts, Garrett Lee came in relief and picked up the win with 2.2 innings, 0 runs, 2 hits 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.
Offensively, Tyson McDiarmid had a big night, he was 2-4 with 5 Rbi's, Carter Castillo 3-4 and 1 Rbi, Alex Barr was 2-4 and an Rbi, and Garrett Lee added a hit.
Ionia is now 21-9 on the season and will play @East Lansing Monday, May 22. They will host St. Johns for their final regular season game on Wednesday, May 24th and open up District play vs St. Johns on Tuesday, May 30th hosted by Belding.
