Danny McCoy got the win for the bulldogs.  He pitched 5 innings, 4 runs on 5 hits and 6 strikeouts.  Gage Flanner came on in relief and pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 3 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks.  Ethan Bowen got the save pitching 1.1 innings, 0 runs, 1 hit and 3 strikeouts.  Ethan has now struck out 28 batters in 10.1 innings of work.  

Offensively for Ionia Carter Castillo 1-3 with a run and an Rbi, Alex Barr 1-3 and 2 Rbi's, Kane Lundstrom 1-3 and an Rbi, Danny McCoy 2-3 and an Rbi, Garrett Lee and Austin Currigan also added hits.

Game #2

Sophomore Christian Miller got the start and pitched exceptionally well for his first varsity outing.  He went 4 innings, 6 runs, 3 hits and 8 strikeouts.  At the plate Ionia was led by Carter Castillo 3-3 and an Rbi, Ethan Bowen 2-3 and 2 Rbi's, Kane Lundstrom 1-2 with a double and an Rbi, Matt McCoy 1-3 with a double and an Rbi, Garrett Lee 1-3 and an Rbi, Tyson McDiarmid 1-1 and an Rbi, Danny McCoy 2-3 and an Rbi and Lance Atkinson added a hit.  

Ionia is now 7-2 on season and opens up league play at defending CAAC champs Eaton Rapids on Tuesday.
