The Ionia varsity baseball team swept Hastings tonight in a doubleheader. Ionia improves to 9-1 overall and will host the Portland Raiders in a very important league matchup on Tuesday, May 3rd, 4:00 start.

- Ethan Bowen didn't allow a single run against Hastings, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Ionia HS Bulldogs Varsity to a 10-0 victory on Thursday
- Ionia HS Bulldogs Varsity secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the third inning. Ionia HS Bulldogs Varsity's big bats in the inning were led by singles by AJ Castillo, Daniel McCoy, and Carter Castillo, a walk by Matt McCoy, and a groundout by Kane Lundstrom. AJ Castillo got the bats going with a big 2 Rbi single. Danny McCoy also had a hit and 2 Rbi's.
