• Ionia HS Bulldogs fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 3-2 loss to Lakewood on Monday. Lakewood scored on a double by Gawne in the first inning and a error in the second inning.
• The pitching was strong on both sides. Lakewood pitchers struck out three, while Ionia HS Bulldogs sat down three.
• In the first inning, Lakewood got their offense started. Gawne doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
• Graham led the Lakewood to victory on the hill. The pitcher surrendered two runs on five hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out three. #9 threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
• Cal Yalacki took the loss for Ionia HS Bulldogs. Yalacki lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out three and walking one.
• Yalacki, Matthew Meyer, Tanner Gregory, Carter Castillo, and Owen Delvin each collected one hit to lead Ionia HS Bulldogs.

• Ionia HS Bulldogs fell to Lakewood 7-6 on Monday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at six with Lakewood batting in the bottom of the seventh when Graham drew a walk, scoring one run.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs trailed by four runs in the second inning, but then fought back to lower the final margin. Ionia HS Bulldogs scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Tanner Gregory, a single by Kane Lundstrom, and a single by Ethan Bowen.
• Lakewood captured the lead in the first inning. Lakewood scored one run when Graham singled.
• In the top of the fourth inning, Ionia HS Bulldogs tied things up at five when Lundstrom singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs scored four runs in the fourth inning. Ionia HS Bulldogs batters contributing to the big inning included Gregory, Lundstrom, and Bowen, who all drove in runs.
• Willelette got the start for Lakewood. The bulldog went four innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out three.
• Bowen was on the mound for Ionia HS Bulldogs. The pitcher lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out four. Collin Palmer threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.
• Bowen started the game for Ionia HS Bulldogs. Bowen lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out four
• Ionia HS Bulldogs saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Lundstrom and Bowen each collected multiple hits for Ionia HS Bulldogs. Lundstrom went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Ionia HS Bulldogs in hits and 2 Rbi's.
