• Ionia HS Bulldogs weathered a scare by Central Montcalm in the sixth inning where Ionia HS Bulldogs coughed up four runs, but Ionia HS Bulldogs still won 10-5 on Thursday. The big inning for Central Montcalm came thanks to doubles by #8, #3, #24, and #12.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs got on the board in the second inning when an error scored one run for Ionia HS Bulldogs.
• Central Montcalm knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the third inning, when #6 grounded out, scoring one run.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth #13 induced Collin Palmer to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Cal Yalacki doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs, Kane Lundstrom singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, and Ethan Bowen's sac fly scored one run for Ionia HS Bulldogs.
• Owen Delvin got the win for Ionia HS Bulldogs. The righthander surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Gavin Stewart threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
• #13 took the loss for Central Montcalm. The pitcher lasted three and a third innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out two.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs tallied ten hits. Bowen and Tanner Gregory each collected multiple hits for Ionia HS Bulldogs. Gregory and Bowen each collected two hits to lead Ionia HS Bulldogs. Ionia HS Bulldogs didn't commit a single error in the field. Matthew Meyer had six chances in the field, the most on the team.

Game 2

• Ionia HS Bulldogs fought back after falling down by four runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 9-8 defeat to Central Montcalm on Thursday. Ionia HS Bulldogs scored two runs in the failed comeback on a single by Ethan Bowen and a single by Cal Yalacki.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs was right in it until Central Montcalm singled in the fourth inning.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs got things started in the first inning. Kane Lundstrom drove in one when Lundstrom singled.
• Central Montcalm knotted the game up at four in the bottom of the first inning, when #5 drew a walk, scoring one run.
• Central Montcalm pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth #12 singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs tallied four runs in the fifth inning. Ionia HS Bulldogs batters contributing to the big inning included Bowen and Yalacki, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
• #24 earned the victory on the mound for Central Montcalm. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing ten hits and eight runs while striking out six and walking zero.
• Trevor Arens took the loss for Ionia HS Bulldogs. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out one.
• Ionia HS Bulldogs had ten hits in the game. Bowen, Tanner Gregory, Gerald Robinson, and Yalacki all had multiple hits for Ionia HS Bulldogs. Yalacki, Robinson, Gregory, and Bowen each collected two hits to lead Ionia HS Bulldogs.

Ionia is now 11-14 on season and will host a tournament on Saturday, May 15th.
