• Ionia Bulldogs Varsity Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Hastings
• Ionia Bulldogs Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 10-4 victory over Hastings on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Ionia Bulldogs Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Owen Delvin singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
• Hastings got things started in the first inning. Rafter was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
• Delvin led the Ionia Bulldogs Varsity to victory on the mound. The righthander went seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out five.
• Hewitt toed the rubber for Hastings. The bulldog went four and a third innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out two. Benson and #7 entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and one and one-third innings respectively.
• Ionia Bulldogs Varsity tallied one home run on the day, sophomore  Daniel McCoy put one out in the seventh inning.  The ball landed on the football field to deep right field.
• Ethan Bowen went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Ionia Bulldogs Varsity in hits. Ionia Bulldogs Varsity tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Austin Hillabrandt led the way with three.
• Hastings racked up eight hits. Benson, Thompson, and Markley all managed multiple hits for Hastings.

• Two Ionia Bulldogs Varsity Pitchers Combine In Shutout Victory Against Hastings
• Ionia Bulldogs Varsity defeated Hastings 16-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Will Anderson induced a fly out from #8 to finish off the game.
• Ionia Bulldogs Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Owen Delvin singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
• Ionia Bulldogs Varsity put up seven runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Matthew Meyer and Cal Yalacki and a double by Daniel McCoy.
• A single by Benson in the second inning was a positive for Hastings.
• Ethan Bowen was the winning pitcher for Ionia Bulldogs Varsity. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero. Anderson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
• Denton led things off on the mound for Hastings. The pitcher went two innings, allowing seven runs on four hits. Smalley and #4 entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
• Ionia Bulldogs Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. McCoy, Delvin, Meyer, and Yalacki each managed multiple hits for Ionia Bulldogs Varsity. Yalacki, Meyer, Delvin, and McCoy all had two hits to lead Ionia Bulldogs Varsity. Ionia Bulldogs Varsity tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Gavin Stewart led the way with two. Ionia Bulldogs Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Meyer made the most plays with seven.

Ionia improves to 8-7 on the season and will host Charlotte on Tuesday, May 4th for another league doubleheader.
