4/13 G#1 Two Pitchers Team Up As Ionia Bulldogs Varsity Defeats Lansing Sexton In Shut-Out

Ionia varsity baseball defeated Lansing Sexton 17-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Ethan Bowen struck out Paige to finish off the game.

 

Ionia  secured the victory thanks to 13 runs in the second inning. Ionia  put the pressure on, led by walks by Kane Lundstrom, Collin Palmer, Owen Delvin, and Daniel McCoy, singles by Cal Yalacki, McCoy, and Ethan Castillo, and a triple by Matthew Meyer.

 

Ionia  put up 13 runs in the second inning. Ionia big bats were led by Lundstrom, Palmer, Delvin, Yalacki, McCoy, and Castillo, all knocking in runs in the inning.

 

 

AJ Castillo got the win for Ionia Bulldogs. The righty lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Bowen threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Du took the loss for Lansing Sexton. The pitcher went one inning, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out one.

Yalacki, Bowen, Meyer, McCoy, and Castillo all had one hit to lead Ionia Bulldogs. Ionia was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Meyer had the most chances in the field with six. Palmer led Ionia Bulldogs Varsity with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 15 stolen bases.

 

 

4/13 G#2 Three Pitchers Work Together In No-Hitter As Ionia Bulldogs Varsity Beats Lansing Sexton

Ionia had  three pitchers who didn't allow a single hit, as Ionia Bulldogs defeated Lansing Sexton 16-0 on Tuesday. Trevor Arens struck out Wilson to get the last out of the game.

 

Ionia secured the victory thanks to 16 runs in the first inning. The big inning was thanks to walks by Arens, Owen Delvin, Kane Lundstrom, singles by Ethan Castillo and AJ Castillo, by Will Anderson, and a double by Collin Palmer.

 

Palmer was on the hill for Ionia. The pitcher lasted one inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero.

 

Arens led Ionia with two hits in two at bats. Ionia didn't commit a single error in the field. Daniel McCoy had the most chances in the field with six.

Ionia improves to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in league play.  The bulldogs will host Fowlerville on Thursday, April 15th for a non-league doubleheader.
