Ionia traveled to Greenville for their season opener, falling 62-60 in an intense overtime battle against a strong Yellow Jacket team. Colt Piercefield led the Bulldogs with 20 points, while Wyatt Erridge, Spencer Tooker, and Cart Starks each contributed 8 points. Brent Starks and Ethan Wenzel added 6 points apiece and Henry Castle 4 points to round out the scoring effort.

The Bulldogs will host Haslett in a triple-header on Tuesday for their home opener.
