Ionia Boys Varsity Track and Field Competes at The Distance Night Under the Lights Meet at Houseman Field, Grand Rapids

A Couple of the Ionia Track and Field Boys from the Distance Family attended a meet at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids on Saturday May 25, 2024. The Distance Night Under the Lights is an individual meet focusing on 3 Events (800, 1600, and 3200) for both Middle School and High School Athletes. Athletes from over 100 High Schools and nearly 40 Middle Schools were in attendance. Ionia was represented in the High School Varsity 800 by Caleb Shortz and Jacob Montgomery. Out of 211 High School Athletes competing in the 800; Jacob Finished 11th with a time of 1:57.85 and Caleb finished 74th with a time of 2:11.91 (a Season Record).
