Boys Varsity Track Competes at the MHSAA Track and Field State Finals Saturday June 4, 2022

The Ionia Boys Track and Field team was represented at the MHSAA State Finals by 8 of their boys. They qualified for the MHSAA State finals by Thrower Brandon Grant, Sprinters Travis Tucker, Jimmy Peabody, and Trevor Tooker, Hurdler Clay Currigan, and Distance Runners Josiah Magley, Heath LaPointe, Jacob Montgomery, and Andrew Gerdes. The boys had a decent day overall. They didn’t have many PR’s but performed at or near their expectations for the day.
Josiah Magley earned All State Recognition by finishing 8th in the 3200M Run with a time of 9:26.49. The Ionia results were as follows. Full meet results may be found at Athletic.net
